Siding and Windows

There comes a time when we have all said, "I'm tired of this old siding. It just won't hold paint anymore." Or, "If I have to take these storm windows off one more time. . ."

The progression of siding and window products over the last 20 years is changing so rapidly it's sometimes hard to keep up with. With the invention of vinyl siding and coil metal we can fully wrap an entire house so it is completely maintenance free. You never have to paint anything again. There are a tremendous variety of styles and colors. Siding can be installed horizontally or vertically, with scallops or even replica cedar shakes.

Some people are more traditional and prefer the option of changing colors - there are new types of wood based, composite based, and concrete based siding products, some being guaranteed for 50 years. With the rising costs of natural gas and electricity, windows and door are being designed to be even more energy efficient. Windows are being built of vinyl and wood with metal and vinyl-clad exteriors to eliminate painting. Ninety-five percent of windows tilt in to clean and come with full screens. Standard features include thermal insulated glass, low-e for ultra violet ray reflection, and blinds between the glass. If your energy bills are continuing to climb it might be time to think about a long term investment with new energy efficient windows or siding.
